In response to God's call to holiness, our faith and life as adult disciples are grounded in developing a personal relationship with Jesus, "the Holy One of God" (Jn 6:69, Mk 1:24). Accordingly, "'at the heart of catechesis we find, in essence, a Person, the Person of Jesus of Nazareth. . . .' Catechesis aims at putting 'people . . . in communion . . . with Jesus Christ.'"
In addition to outside resources like Formed, the USCCB, and Relevant Radio, there are a multitude of ways to grow in your faith here at Saints Peter and Paul. We welcome you to join us for book clubs, Bible studies, and other events, where we learn and grow together as a faith community.
Saints Peter and Paul has been selected as a pilot parish for Hallow's Lenten Challenge. For those of you who don't know Hallow, it is the number-one Catholic app in the world with over 7 million downloads and 150 million prayers completed within the app.
Every Lent, Hallow organizes one of the largest community prayer programs in the world, with over 200,000 projected participants in 2023. This year, we will be journeying through this content together as a parish, which is centered around the spiritual masterpiece, Imitation of Christ, written by Thomas à Kempis in the 15th century.
To truly immerse ourselves in this content, we'll be working with Hallow directly to host a 7-week program through Lent with weekly dinners and discussions.

In his Letter to the Hebrews, the sacred author declares that the faithful are surrounded by a “cloud of witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1). This “cloud” is the communion of saints, our elder brothers and sisters who assist and guide us to Christ.
The Cloud of Witnesses series offers an in-depth look at the lives of six saints. Michael Lewandowski will present on their lives and their miracles after they joined their heavenly Father. This opportunity seeks to inspire us to persevere and strive to be holy.
Each Thursday evening will include an optional potluck from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Social Hall; dinner themes will center around the saint’s ethnicity. Michael’s presentation will run from 7 to 8:15 p.m., and dessert will be served during small- and large-group discussion about the featured saint from 8:15 to 9 p.m. Click here to learn more.
The upcoming Bible Study will focus on the books of Exodus, Leviticus,
and Numbers. Michael Lewandowski will present on how to understand
Moses and the Exodus account, with a special emphasis on how these Old
Testament books relate to Christ.
The study will endeavor to help the reader understand and appreciate God’s saving providence for the children of Israel. In addition, we will investigate the Passover, the journey in the wilderness, and God’s established system of worship that foreshadows Christ and the Mass. We will also see how the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist, are foreshadowed in these books.
Please bring a Bible and a pen. Notes will be provided each week for all Bible Study participants. Click here for a full schedule and flyer. Questions? Email Mike.
