I am delighted to announce that Daniel Obendorf will assume the position of part-time Youth Minister at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church effective September 6.
Daniel will be familiar to many in the SSPP community, both as a parishioner and as a student in the religious education program for eight years while attending the Naperville public schools. Daniel has many wonderful memories of his four years in SSPP youth ministry program while a student at Metea Valley High School. During high school, Daniel was a member of the Knights of the Holy Temple at SSPP; an organization that he will now oversee as he joins the SSPP pastoral staff.
As a former seminarian for the Diocese of Joliet, Daniel served on a Totus Tuus team in the summer of 2019, and organized and facilitated youth retreats in the summer of 2021. Daniel enjoys playing basketball, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee, and is a member of the Catholic Young Adults Sports League.
Daniel is very eager to engage and serve the young people in the high school youth ministry program at Saints Peter and Paul. Daniel will also be responsible for starting a youth program for current eighth grade students in Saints Peter and Paul Parish.
Daniel recently graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul Minnesota, where he majored in Philosophy and Catholic Studies.
Please join me in warmly welcoming Daniel to this new role within our parish community.
In the Peace of Christ,
