Thank you to all who so generously donated to Light the Way in December 2022, supporting the illumination of our historic church.
In advance of the 100th anniversary of the building’s dedication in 2027, this major beautification project will visually enhance the stunning architecture of the church, while also providing additional safety and security for parishioners, students, clergy, staff, and pedestrians.
Enhancements will include architectural spotlight fixtures, as well as the electrical wiring infrastructure to support it. The new low-voltage fixtures will "stencil" the church with light—directed toward the sky and protected by shrouds to prevent light pollution to the neighborhood. And the additional electrical cost to the parish will be very minimal.
"We are not going to wash it with light, but paint it with light," says Accents Lighting president David Sloan. "This is major surgery, but there will not be a lot of scars. You'll see light up there, but have no idea where the wires run."
The work will take about a month to complete, so please be careful as you navigate campus in March/early April.
