Former Youth Minister Jared Rutnicki will be ordained at the Ordination to the Order of Deacon on Saturday, April 9 at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Raymond in Joliet.

Bishop Hicks has lifted the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass starting on Palm Sunday, April 10. Of course, if individuals are ill or contagious to others, Canon law allows them to decide for themselves if they should attend Mass.

Parishioner Chrissy Tworek, a North Central College graduate, will be sharing her vocation story at all Masses the weekend of March 19-20. Chrissy’s vocation to a contemplative life with the Handmaids of the Precious Blood was inspired by her time here at Saints Peter and Paul.

The Aurora 40 Days for Life prayer vigil is a part of an international effort to end the tragedy of abortion through prayer, fasting and public witness. Every day and night from March 2 to April 2 people will gather outside of Planned Parenthood in Aurora (3051 E. New York St.) to peacefully pray for all who are affected by abortion.

Bishop Ron Hicks will celebrate a Mass commemorating the 500th anniversary of the introduction of Christianity in the Philippines on Saturday, March 12 at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus in Joliet. The 1 p.m. Mass will feature Scripture readings and prayers recited in various languages spoken in the Southeast Asian country, including Tagalog. The Mass will be preceded by a procession on Raynor Avenue highlighting four Filipino devotions, weather permitting.
